For its 25th year, Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Chapter AC is hosting Tastes of Incline at the stunning Chateau at Incline Village on August 27 to support women’s education with harmonious wine and mouthwatering delicacies from 17 local restaurants.
Founded in 1869, the P.E.O. Sisterhood was created by seven female Iowa Wesleyan College students who shared a friendship and an enthusiasm for educational opportunities for women. In 1927, Cottey College was gifted to the Sisterhood by founder Virginia Alice Cottey Stockard. To this day, the college, located in Nevada, Missouri, is the only nonsectarian college in the United States that is solely owned and supported by women.
